Christmas spirit lives

Sandy survivors are salvaging Christmas as best they can — with help from strangers.

“We pretty much lost everything,” said Maura McKeever, 38, of Belle Harbor, Queens. “The kids [4-year-old twins] are happy to go to a Christmas party . . . and see Santa Claus.”

The party, sponsored by the Warren-Tricomi Hair Salon, yesterday drew more than 300 families to the Merrill Lynch office in Midtown.

“There may be no holiday season in the shelter,” said organizer Patricia Fitzgibbons.
