NYC livery cab driver shot after group hails ride

A New York City livery cab driver was seriously injured after a group of men hailed a ride in the Bronx.

Marcos Villegas was shot around 3 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East 137th Street and Cypress Avenue in the Mott Haven section.

Fernando Mateo, president of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers, said the 33-year-old cab driver is in serious but stable condition.
