‘Rain delay’ on bike share

Now they’re blaming Sandy.

The city’s long-delayed bike-share program — which was supposed to begin over the summer — is being pushed back yet again, this time because of storm damage to equipment, officials said yesterday.

The first phase of the program is now slated to begin in May and include 5,500 bikes in 293 stations, according to the Department of Transportation.

Those bike stations will be placed south of 59th Street in Manhattan and in northwestern parts of Brooklyn.
