Bagel pol Seabrook in hole for $1M

That’s a lot of bagels!

Crooked ex-pol Larry Seabrook should be forced to pay back taxpayers $1.1 million-plus for scamming City Council “slush” funds, federal prosecutors say.

Papers filed yesterday in Manhattan federal court say the amount represents a “conservative analysis” of how much Seabrook steered to shady nonprofits for “improper expenditures” to his then-mistress, family members and friends, as well as other “undocumented or inappropriate expenses.”

The feds say, “Every dollar of those payments is a loss to the city for which Larry Seabrook is responsible.”

The Bronx Democrat was convicted of nine counts of conspiracy and fraud in the nonprofit-funding scheme, but beat the rap on an infamous allegation that he doctored a receipt to get reimbursed $177 from his political club for a bagel sandwich and Diet Snapple.

The feds say he deserves up to nine years in the slammer when he’s sentenced next month, but Seabrook is hoping for no jail time on grounds that he’s already “had to suffer immense shame, humiliation and degradation” due to his conviction and ouster from public office.
