Bern bro ‘$ divvy’

Arch fraudster Bernie Madoff’s younger brother showed his true colors when he learned the family’s crooked firm was about to collapse, the feds said yesterday.

Peter Madoff desperately scrambled to divvy up the remaining dough among himself, family and friends, prosecutors said.

In papers filed ahead of Peter’s sentencing next week, prosecutors say those actions “demonstrate his character,” noting that the younger Madoff personally reviewed lists of investors and chose who should share in the $300 million that was left, “putting the interests of his family and friends ahead of the vast majority of . . . clients.”

The Manhattan federal-court filing says a defense brief filed on Peter’s behalf “does not even acknowledge the impact of his crimes on the victims.”

The papers say at least one victim wants to speak at the sentencing, where Peter is slated to get 10 years and forfeit a symbolic $143 billion, leaving him penniless.
