Staten Islanders who use the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge are getting a break in the upcoming round of MTA fare and toll hikes.
Island residents who use E-ZPasses three or more times a month will see their tolls increase to $6 each way, a 4.1 percent increase over the current $5.76 toll.
That’s far less of a percentage hike than will be seen on the other MTA bridges, according to an MTA internal memo obtained by The Post.
Though drivers using other MTA crossings will pay 11 percent increases, their tolls are still far lower than what’s charged on the Verrazano.
The tolls are expected to be approved at an MTA meeting on Wednesday. Also on the MTA’s agenda that day is a plan to boost the base subway fare to $2.50, pare back MetroCard per-ride discounts, and raise prices for MetroCard seven- and 30-day passes.
