City owes 340G for ‘beat’ cop

A former cop has agreed to accept $340,000 to settle her explosive suit against the city and the male supervisor who beat her on a Manhattan street, sources told The Post.

Sharon Gandarilla, 37, said the NYPD ignored her complaints and did nothing to stop abuse from ex-lover Capt. Alberto Sanchez — instead punishing her by falsely charging her with fudging her time sheets.

The two married cops began their illicit affair in 2004. In 2006, he pummeled and threatened to kill her at a West Village intersection after they stormed out of a party.

He was convicted of misdemeanor assault and spent 40 days at Rikers Island.

But, as The Post first reported, the NYPD kept him on the payroll, despite a hearing officer’s recommendation he be fired.

Instead, in a highly unusual move, he was allowed to remain on “modified assignment” while at home — which let him nail down a pension worth $75,000.

Gandarilla, a mother of three, said she agreed to settle the federal civil-rights suit, instead of going to trial, “for my mental health.

“To have had to talk about what happened would have been traumatic,’’ she said.

Her lawyer, Linda Cronin, said the city thought it would have had to pay more if it went to trial.

The city is obligated to pay Sanchez’s share of the damages.
