Reba McIntyre is going to be “American Idol” singer Kelly Clarkson’s new mother-in-law.
Over the weekend, Clarkson tweeted that her boyfriend, Brandon Blackstock, had proposed marriage and that she’d said, “Yes.”
“I’m engaged!” she tweeted. “I wanted y’all to know! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.”
Blackstock is the son of Clarkson’s manager, Narvel Blackstock, who has been married to McIntyre for more than 20 years.
Clarkson posted a picture of her ring on WhoSay, the celeb-freindly social network.
“It’s a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it,” she wrote. “Brandon designed it with [celebrity jeweler] Johnathon Arndt!”
The couple has been going out for only about a year, though they’ve known each other since Clarkson hired Blackstock’s father to manager her career in 2007.
“I’ve never been the girl to plan a wedding,” she told Ellen Degeneres during an appearance on her talk show last month. “We will totally, probably elope.”
