Giants blitz

HERO

The Falcons defense dominated the game — intercepting Eli Manning twice, forcing a Kregg Lumpkin fumble, stopping the Giants on three fourth-and-shorts and holding them to 10 first downs all day.

UNSUNG HERO

Matt Ryan (pictured) had no problem with the Giants’ defense, carving them up by completing 23 of 28 passes for 270 yards, three touchdowns (two to Julio Jones) and zero interceptions. Ryan was basically flawless.

ZERO

Coughlin’s bunch was absolutely demolished from head to toe, but Eli Manning was the worst of them all. The star quarterback delivered a miserable game, throwing two interceptions and leading his team to zero points. Tough to do less.

KEY STAT

256 Regular-season games since the Giants’ last shutout. That came back on Dec. 1, 1996, to the Eagles, a 24-0 affair.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“We got to figure out what the reason is and get it corrected ASAP because that’s not Giants football. I mean, that’s embarrassing not only to us but to anybody who ever wore a Giants decal on their hat or shoulder or anything like that.”
