Two new breeds will compete at next year’s Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Garden, officials said yesterday.
The Russell terrier and the treeing Walker coonhound will bring the total of breeds and varieties in February’s competition to 187.
The American Kennel Club, which determines eligibility, said it considers breeds for recognition if they show sufficient numbers, geographic distribution and an active parent club.
