Isiah lands NBA TV gig

Isiah Thomas is going to get another chance — on television.

NBA TV announced yesterday that Thomas has joined its team of studio analysts and will make his debut on tomorrow’s pregame show prior to the Knicks-Bulls matchup on the channel.

The former Knicks coach and president had tried out for ESPN earlier this year, but the network opted to add columnist Bill Simmons and former NBA point guard Jalen Rose to the show. Thomas, who remains close with Knicks owner James Dolan, will make several appearances each month and will contribute to NBA.com. Thomas was fired by Florida International University in March after going 26-65 in three seasons with the school.

Thomas was the lead analyst for NBC in 1998 after parting with the Raptors and before being named president of the CBA.
