Horny music teach busted in teen ‘rape’

A trumpet-playing Brooklyn public intermediate-school teacher bedded a teen member of his wife’s youth choir — and even had sex with the girl while the wife was at church, officials said.

Vaughn McKinney, a longtime music instructor at IS 59 in Springfield Gardens, Queens, was arrested yesterday on 10 counts of alleged rape and sexual misconduct, cops said.

The jazz buff allegedly pressured the 16-year-old girl into a sexual relationship after she complained about needing a job so she could afford a phone.

McKinney, 58, not only bought her a cellphone and paid the monthly bills, he also gave her cash and other gifts — but with sleazy strings attached, a report by school system’s special commissioner of investigation found.

The now-18-year-old told investigators she had sex with McKinney more than a dozen times in 2011.

Patricia McKinney, a substitute teacher, is the director of the East Flatbush Ecumenical Community Choir in Brooklyn, where the girl sang for four years.

McKinney admitted to probers that he had sex with the girl, but said it was only after she turned 17. The girl initially backed that timeline, but later admitted the contact began when she was 16.

Last fall, the girl finally confided in pastors at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, the report said.

The head pastor told probers he confronted McKinney and the girl’s mother.

But no one told authorities of the allegation until March, when the girl’s mom contacted the office of the special commissioner.

McKinney wasn’t yanked from the school until June.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment early this morning and was held on $35,000 bail.
