Hearings minus state head: Is Hillary playing hooky?

The Issue: Hillary Clinton’s ailments, which are causing her to miss hearings on the Benghazi attack.

It’s funny how Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suffers another array of medical setbacks — a stomach virus, fainting, concussion — when she has to face a hearing about the Benghazi debacle (“Hillary Clinton’s Head Fake,” Editorial, Dec 18).

What’s next, Hillary — yellow fever?

Hillary continues the same shameless arrogance from when her family was in the White House. Her Highness came up with some lame excuse about why she can’t testify at a hearing on Benghazi.

With her “protocol is for the little people” attitude, she offered to send a couple of flunkies to explain why the administration screwed up. That’s unacceptable.

If traveling around the globe for four years to accomplish who-knows-what is her job, then so is giving the public some insight on what went wrong in Benghazi. Show some backbone.

Apparently, Clinton is following the strict NFL guidelines regarding concussions. Displaying an abundance of caution, she’s keeping herself from the rough and tumble of the political playing field until she’s fully recovered.

A cynic might suggest that the concussion can serve two political purposes. It shields Clinton from immediate questioning regarding her State Department’s indefensible failures in protecting the lives of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi.

This could also be used as an excuse for not remembering critical details. An answer such as, “I just have no memory of that at all,” would seem perfectly plausible.

Hillary’s convenient concussion is as phony as the administration pontificating on the infamous video. The Benghazi charade marches on, with yet another insult to the intelligence of the American people.
