NYPD offers $12K reward for Queens bodega clerk killer

New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says detectives are combing through surveillance footage in the fatal shooting of a convenience store worker. The department is also offering a $12,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of his killer.

The victim, Ishak Ghali was from Egypt and worked long hours in the Queens store. Kelly said Ghali was alone Thursday evening when two men wearing hoodies apparently shot him in the face and made off with money from the cash drawer.

A spokesman for an association of convenience store workers said Friday that more must be done to protect shopkeepers. The spokesman says owners must buy bullet-resistant partitions and vests and consider applying for a gun permit if necessary.
