Ringing in 2013

100 years, no solitude

The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC, is celebrating 2013 — and its 100th anniversary — with not one, but two New Year’s Eve deals. The “Toast to 100 Package” offers a party with traditional music and a “large dance floor to waltz and foxtrot the night away.” More contemporary-minded folks might prefer the “Centennial Blast Off Package,” with a celebration featuring “fantastic modern and party music.” Both packages include party tickets, accommodations and New Year’s Eve dinner at one of three on-site restaurants. Rates start at $298 a night; two-night minimum stay required. groveparkinn.com

2013 ASAP

Celebrate New Year’s Eve a day earlier than all your friends back home. Fiji’s luxurious Vomo Island Resort — located on a private island in a time zone 18 hours ahead of NYC — is throwing an al fresco “elaborate, beach chic” bash, with “couches” crafted from the white sand (and covered with linen and pillows), fireworks, dancing and a bonfire. The dinner menu, served poolside, will include local mud crab and line-caught tuna. New Year’s Eve rates at the all-inclusive resort start at $1,300 per night, per couple. vomofiji.com

Miami fete

Don’t let hipsters have all the fun. Kick it, old-school style, in South Beach this New Year’s Eve. Sure, scene chasers will flock to Calvin Harris at LIV or Santigold at the Delano — but for a grown-up night out, head to the New Year’s Eve Gala at the Angler’s Boutique Resort. Dress elegant and take your pick between a $100 three-course dinner (early seating) at the hotel’s 660 restaurant, or enjoy a five-course meal, followed by cocktails, dancing and a midnight champagne toast and balloon drop for $150. The party continues after midnight with a separate bash with an open bar (from $70) and dancing until 3 a.m. Room rates start at $499, three-night minimum stay required. theanglersresort.com

Aspen makeover

Heading to Aspen? Check out the newly renovated Hotel Jerome, an Auberge Resort, located downtown. The historic luxury hotel (built in 1889) reopened last week and has unveiled a new restaurant, Prospect — an “upscale American bistro.” Rates at the 93-room hotel start at $795. hoteljerome.com
