Celebrate New Year’s Eve a day earlier than all your friends back home. Fiji’s luxurious Vomo Island Resort — located on a private island in a time zone 18 hours ahead of NYC — is throwing an al fresco “elaborate, beach chic” bash, with “couches” crafted from the white sand (and covered with linen and pillows), fireworks, dancing and a bonfire.
