Mike ups ‘pres’sure

Mayor Bloomberg kept the heat on President Obama to reform the nation’s gun laws in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre, while his gun-control organization mulled its next move.

“Number one, it’s the president’s job to promote a plan that satisfies the needs of the country,” Bloomberg said yesterday during a TV interview.

Bloomberg repeated his call for Obama to appoint a head to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — a post that has been vacant for six years — and to champion federal gun laws.

Meanwhile, his organization, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, is considering buying ads to pressure Congress into action, according to a member who was part of a strategy conference call this week.
