A husky trapped in a truck in London, Ontario, with two other dogs and two cats for at least a week saved all their lives by honking the horn until someone investigated.

The animals had been abandoned without food or water by their owners, who were later arrested.

London Humane Society director Judy Foster said people want the husky to get a “hero award.’’

The Jersey Shore home of Debbie and Joe Turner was destroyed by Sandy, but they’ll always have a much more pleasant memory of the superstorm.
