Paper sues Lance for ‘dope’ money

The Sunday Times of London is suing Lance Armstrong — to regain the money it paid him to settle his 2004 libel suit.

Armstrong took the paper to court after it wondered whether the multiple Tour de France winner was doping. The settlement netted the since-disgraced cyclist nearly half a million dollars.

But now that the US Anti-Doping Agency has branded him a cheater and stripped him of his seven titles, the Sunday Times wants its money back. With court costs and interest, its lawsuit will likely seek more than $1.5 million, the paper said.
