Ncaa: Orange bans pair for Pinstripe Bowl

Syracuse announced sophomore running back Adonis Ameen-Moore and junior tight end Max Beaulieu will not play in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday against West Virginia at Yankee Stadium. Orange coach Doug Marrone said in a statement the discipline stems from unspecified violations of athletic department rules.

tennis: Virus keeps Nadal on shelf

Rafael Nadal’s return to competition has been delayed by a stomach virus. The Spaniard was scheduled to play in an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi tomorrow after missing seven months because of tendinitis in his left knee. But he said on his Facebook page yesterday that his doctors ordered him to pull out when he was running a fever, telling him his body needed rest.
