OBIT: Daniel Fratto, 19

Daniel Fratto, a 2010 HOPE Week honoree, passed away Sunday at the age of 19, the Yankees announced yesterday.

Fratto, who battled extreme physical challenges as a result of severe combined immune deficiency syndrome, was a member of the “Beautiful People” — an organization that unites children with disabilities and the community through sports programs. At a Yankees game against the Tigers, Fratto got the chance to be the public address announcer for a half-inning.

Brad Corbett, who owned the Texas Rangers from 1974 to 1980 and was known for frequently switching managers, died at the age of 75.

nba: Cousins reinstated by Kings

The Kings reinstated center DeMarcus Cousins after a one-game suspension for “unprofessional behavior.’’ Cousins and Kings coach Keith Smart exchanged words in the locker room during Friday night’s loss to the Clippers. Smart benched Cousins for the entire second half and ordered him to remain in the locker room.

ETC.: Porter released from jail

Joey Porter, the former NFL Pro Bowl linebacker, was released from a California jail after paying $70,000 owed to the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. Porter, 35, was arrested during the weekend on a theft and bad check complaint filed earlier this year.
