Chef sues Citi Field food contractor Aramark

He says they took him right out of the old ball game.

A former Citi Field chef has sued stadium food contractor Aramark because they fired him after he took a short time off after suffering chest pain, according to a Brooklyn federal court lawsuit.

Kenneth Katz worked in the executive kitchen at the Flushing, Queens stadium, cooking for the owners and the guests — but was canned after heart problems kept him home for about 10 days.

“Mr. Katz’s performance was never an issue until he was diagnosed with a medical condition,” his attorney Kenneth Anand said today.

Katz began work as a Citi Field executive sous chef in 2008, but in 2011 his boss reduced his responsibilities after he suffered chest tightness and shortness of breath — then fired him, the lawsuit claims.

Aramark spokesman Dave Freireich declined to comment.
