A crazed man was arrested this morning after holding his child hostage in a Bronx apartment, authorities said.
The 31-year-old man’s wife called the police to the apartment on East 141st Street in Mott Haven around midnight, claiming her husband was acting “irrationally” and might be on drugs, police sources said.
The wife was able to get out of the apartment, but the couple’s 4-year-old daughter was still inside, cops said.
It took nearly two hours of trying to coax the emotionally disturbed man to free the youngster, police sources said. He voluntarily surrendered and was taken to Lincoln Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, cops said.
The child was not injured during the ordeal, police said.
