Gilgo pimp’s ‘cougar’ plea

The cougar made me do it!

A Brooklyn man convicted of pimping said he deserves a shorter sentence because he slept with an older woman when he was a teen, according to court documents.

Akeem Cruz, 23, tried to present himself as a victim of love, in a memorandum filed in Brooklyn federal court.

Cruz already admitted he lured women to work as prostitutes, including one murdered by the Gilgo Beach serial killer.

The sentencing memo claims Cruz turned to crime in part because of “the difficulties of a young man of 17 years old, having a full-on love relationship with a woman, aged 37, herself a mother of three children.”

Cruz made the wacky argument in hopes the judge would grant him a prison term of time served when he is sentenced today.

“It is difficult to comprehend how having a relationship with an older woman is justification for transporting young and vulnerable girls from Maine to New York for prostitution,” prosecutors fired back in their sentencing memorandum.
