Dave tells Oprah: I’m in therapy

David Letterman sat on Oprah Winfrey’s couch for a tell-all interview last night — and revealed he’s been sitting on another kind of couch lately: his therapist’s.

The “Late Show” host — who said he has finally buried the hatchet with Oprah for good after a years-long feud — admitted he’s been going through weekly shrink sessions since ’fessing up to extramarital affairs with female co-workers in 2009.

“For a long time, I thought I was a decent guy, but yet, thinking I was a decent guy, I was still capable of behavior that wasn’t coincidental to living a decent life,” he told Winfrey in the hour-long interview that aired on OWN’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” “And then that’s what I’m working on.”

Letterman said his wife. Regina Lasko, has forgiven him for the 2009 sex scandal and their relationship is “never better” — but he has been unable to forgive himself. “You can’t eradicate the record,” he confessed to Oprah.
