Yoko, Sean back Andy

ALBANY — Murdered Beatle John Lennon’s son and widow gave thumbs up to Gov. Cuomo’s push for tougher gun control yesterday.

“It’s deeply personal for me,” Sean Lennon, whose father was gunned down in 1980 outside their home at the Dakota on West 72nd Street, said during an appearance in Albany with mom Yoko Ono to oppose fracking.

“It’s personal at this point for all Americans, especially after what happened in Connecticut . . . This has been happening too much.”

Cuomo and legislative negotiators continued to push for a gun-law package that is expected to include a reduction in the legal capacity of magazines possibly to seven bullets; a requirement that owners register banned “assault weapons,” a mandate that mental-health professionals notify authorities of patients who pose potential safety threats; and background checks for private gun sales, among other proposals.
