A man was stabbed and burned to death in The Bronx yesterday, cops said.

Firefighters discovered the body under a mattress during a fire that started at about 6 a.m. on the second floor of a Webster Avenue building in Fordham Heights, police sources said.

Gregory Evans, 56, lived at the address, and was found with stab wounds to his neck and burns to his body. He was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.

The flames were extinguished by about 6:30 a.m.

Video surveillance at the building showed a man walking “casually” away from the scene at about 5:51 a.m., a source said.

Leo Huggins, 48, was collared a few blocks away and charged with murder, arson, and burglary, police said..

The relationship between the two men was not immediately clear, police said.

The victim’s godmother, Annie Allen, 73, said Evans was a “good guy.”

“He wasn’t no troublemaker or anything,” a distraught Allen said.
