Driver in critical condition after East Flatbush shooting

A driver is in critical condition after an early morning shooting at an East Flatbush intersection, police said.

The 44-year-old man was stopped at a red light at the intersection of East 46th Street and Glenwood Avenue around 3:30 a.m. today when a gunman walked up and fired three shots through the windshield and driver’s side door of the victim’s late-model Mercedes sedan, police said.

The driver was struck in the forehead and leg and he was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, cops added.

A 36-year-old male passenger was not hit, according to police.

The suspect may have fled in a black SUV, cops said.

Investigators believe the driver was targeted but it wasn’t immediately clear why.

The victim has at least two prior arrests in Brooklyn, including one for possessing large quantities of hard drugs, sources said.
