Syracuse to retire Carmelo’s No. 15: report

Carmelo Anthony will have his jersey retired by Syracuse later this season.

The Knicks star, who helped lead the Orange to a National Championship as a freshman in 2003, will be honored during halftime of a game at the Carrier Dome sometime next month, according to a report by ESPN.com

Anthony’s No. 15 has not been worn since he left the school following the 2003 season and he will have the chance to address the crowd during the ceremony.

He will become the 10th player to have his jersey retired by the university.
