Yankee Stadium’s new Babe

He’s out — and safe!

A pregnant Bronx woman yesterday went into labor on a 4 train — and then got off at the Yankee Stadium station, where she promptly delivered a new bambino with the help of four cops.

“I never imagined I would give birth in a police station,” marveled Tamika Snipe, 21, after she delivered Maxwell on the floor of the NYPD’s Transit District 11 station at 161st Street.

“It was fast and easy. He was ready to come out,” said Snipe, who was on her way to a doctor’s appointment in Manhattan with her mom, Lorell, when she began feeling contractions.

Lt. Sylvia Mendoza, 32, said two male officers helped Snipe get into the police station after a good Samaritan alerted them that her water had broken.

Two female cops then assisted her during the birth of the 7-pound boy.

“They were really nice. They were very helpful,” said Snipe, who has two other kids. “They were trying to find stuff where I could lay down . . . There was no place, so they put plastic bags on the floor so I could lay down.”

Officer Norma Vargas Benitez, 45, said, “I pulled the baby out. I was happy when the baby cried. I knew the baby was OK.” said Benitez, herself a mom of four. “It was the best thing that’s happened to me while on the job. I won’t ever forget it. She thanked me.
