NFL linebacker Jovan Belcher was drunk when he went on a rampage in which he shot his girlfriend nine times at their Kansas City home before taking his own life at the team practice facility.

Belcher’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the autopsy, according to a medical report released yesterday.

Kasandra Perkins, Belcher’s girlfriend, was fatally shot at close range — in the neck, chest, abdomen, hip, back, leg and hand, the report revealed.

The autopsy results, released by the Jackson County Medical Examiner, also raises concerns about whether authorities could have stepped in to avoid the double tragedy.

Police had found Belcher sleeping in his idling Bentley about five hours prior to the deadly Dec. 1 incident. A police report stated that Belcher had “initially displayed possible signs of being under the influence (asleep and disoriented).”

But the officers let Belcher go into a nearby apartment to sleep it off.

The autopsy showed that Belcher’s blood-alcohol content was 0.17, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent for Missouri drivers, and it was likely higher when he shot Perkins, 22, at the couple’s Kansas City home.

The Long Island native had been arguing with Perkins over the paternity of their 4-month-old daughter prior to the shooting, sources have said.

Zoey, the daughter of Belcher and Perkins, is now at the center of a nasty custody battle between the child’s grandparents.

Belcher’s mother, Cheryl Shepherd, had been living with the couple, and was at the home when he shot Perkins.

She was granted temporary custody of the baby after the murder-suicide, but Perkins’ family contested the arrangement.

The custodian stands to control nearly $3 million due the child under terms of the NFL’s collective-bargaining agreement. A Missouri court recently appointed a lawyer to protect the baby’s interests.
