Supermarket mogul John Catsimatides Catsimatidis is putting his money where his mouth is as he eyes the Republican nomination for mayor.
Taking a page from billionaire Mayor Bloomberg, Catsimatidis said he put $1 million of his own fortune into his campaign kitty to get things rolling. He said the personal contribution shows he’s serious about the race.
“I cut a million dollar check,” Catsimatidis said.
He said he will be hiring campaign staff within the next week.
