Gropez back on the job

ALBANY — Vito’s back.

Former Brooklyn Democratic leader Vito Lopez returned to the state Assembly chamber yesterday for his first legislative session since sexual harassment allegations against him surfaced last August.

“I’m not going to run from people based on allegations,” Lopez said from his chamber seat — with girlfriend Angela Battaglia by his side.

“If I would had gotten 50 to 60 percent of the vote and still won, I might have left office,” added Lopez, who won more than 90 percent against token opposition.

Lopez, who has denied the allegations, told The Post that fellow legislators have stopped by to say hello, adding, “No one’s been critical.”
