Original “Supernanny” Jo Frost is making a comeback.
The no-nonsense “Kid Whisperer,” who starred for seven seasons on “Supernanny” and invented disciplinary techniques like “the naughty chair” on both sides of the Atlantic, is starring in a new show on TLC — after a few years off.
Frost — who worked as a British nanny for more than a decade before becoming a phenomenon on TV there and getting her own show on ABC — is just in time to steal some thunder from Lifetime’s “Supernanny” knockoff, “America’s Supernanny.”
TLC put out a casting notice for the new (as-yet-untitled) show over the weekend, “looking for dynamic families from all different walks of life with kids ranging anywhere from toddlers to teenagers — and even older.”
After leaving “Supernanny” in 2010, the British-born Frost, 41, ripped the show’s producers as having “made up this story that I was running off to get married and have children . . . Let’s just say that my leaving ‘Supernanny’ was not exactly the Disneyfication of the story that it was made out to be,” she told the Daily Mail.
Frost’s new show sounds a lot like “Supernanny” — the big difference here being that she will also visit “blended” families in this version.
“There is no challenge that we aren’t willing to tackle,” reads the casting notice.
