Clock ticks on $250M for ed.

State Education Commissioner John King is warning the city and a handful of school districts statewide that have yet to submit plans for new teacher-evaluation systems before Thursday’s deadline that time is running out.

The city and the teachers union not only must reach a deal on a new system by then, but they also must get it approved by the state Education Department — or else forfeit at least $250 million in state aid.
