A man was fatally shot this morning in Canarsie, authorities said.
The 22-year-old was found on East 87th Street and Farragut Road at 1:30 a.m. after someone called 911 to report the shooting, police said.
Emergency workers rushed the man, who was shot in the chest, to Brookdale Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
It was not immediately known what sparked the shooting, cops said.
