LONDON — You could call Carmelo Anthony deaf and numb.

The Knicks superstar said he was unaware he was being miked up for Friday’s Bulls game and Sunday’s game vs. the Hornets on orders from owner James Dolan, and he doesn’t care.

As Anthony arrived with his wife, La La, to the team hotel in London Tuesday morning, he laughed it off. Anthony told The Post he had no idea Dolan had set up two audio technicians on opposite sides of the court to record his on-court dialogue with other players. The Post reported Dolan did it because he wanted to protect Anthony from another Kevin Garnett-type “he-said, he-said’’ incident, which led to Anthony’s one-game suspension.

“I don’t care about the microphones, ‘’ Anthony told The Post in the hotel lobby. “I wasn’t aware of it. I found out on the plane [ride].’’

The Knicks, who face the Pistons at O2 Arena Thursday, have declined comment. But Anthony said he doesn’t understand why it was done at all.

“I don’t think the mikes are going to stop what goes out on the court,’’ Anthony said. “But it was funny when I heard it. No, I wasn’t upset. Not at all.”

Then at the Wednesday morning practice Anthony said, “I got an owner who looks out for me. You can’t beat that, an owner that protects his players.”

Anthony has been unable to escape the headlines, starting with the Garnett altercation that spilled off the court and generated a report from blacksportsonline.com — since denied — Garnett said Anthony’s wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.’’ Anthony was suspended one game for waiting for Garnett outside the Celtics’ locker room and team bus. Upon his return, he struggled with his energy level and shot, and revealed he was on a 15-day fast, which he finally broke Sunday night.

Coach Mike Woodson said he hasn’t delved into the topic with Dolan to find out what was up.

“That’s not my concern,’’ Woodson said Tuesday in a hotel conference room. “It really isn’t. When I step on the floor I’m not thinking about camera guys. All I’m focusing in is the guys running up and down the floor on both ends and the opponent. If the cameras are there, they’re there. I don’t know anything about it.’’

Anthony said he was exhausted from the six-hour, red-eye flight from JFK. It is his first trip to London since he and Tyson Chandler helped the U.S Olympic Team win the gold medal in August.

“It feels good to be back,’’ Anthony said. “I’m tired now, but I’ll get some rest and see how I feel. It’ll bring back some good memories.’’

That La La was by his side was noteworthy, considering a report they were separated. La La, who denied it, said she also attended the Olympic fortnight.

“I had a great time,’’ she said.

This trip has become a family affair. Dolan, who didn’t make the journey, rented a supersized charter so the players could bring their wives and children.

Amar’e Stoudemire came off the team bus with his new wife, Alexis. Jason Kidd was arm and arm with his wife, Porschla.

“It’s an opportunity not only for us to bond, but they can spend a little time with their families,’’ Woodson said. “It’s kind of nice to spend it with people you know. Some players were able to bring their kids and spouses.’’

Stoudemire and Alexis planned to hit the town. Some players will go to a Chelsea soccer game tonight.

“This is the first time here with my wife,’’ Stoudemire said. “I’ll try to enjoy the London area, restaurants and lounges, great museums. I’m going to try to enjoy sightseeing.’’

Woodson cancelled practice so the club can rest up, calling it “a pampering day.’’ The Knicks will have a full-blown practice Wednesday that should confirm Iman Shumpert making his season debut Thursday.

“It’s been a long flight over,’’ Woodson said. “I think guys are kind of dragging. I don’t know if I’ll get much out of anybody.’’

Woodson spent a week in London in August during the Olympics and caught some basketball games, watching Anthony, Chandler and point guard Pablo Prigioni, who played for Argentina, which lost in the bronze-medal game.

“It’s great to be back in London,’’ Woodson said. “It really was a hell of an experience. To be able to experience that with your family and watch three of your players compete for gold medals, it’s really awesome. To be able to bring our team back this year, it’s got to be great for anybody, the fans, because they got an opportunity to see basketball played at its highest level.’’
