Residents protests PSEG Long Island’s new electrical poles

PSEG Long Island is installing 264 60-foot poles along 6.2 miles of back roads between the East Hampton Village and Amagansett substations.

But more than 2,500 people have signed a petition against the project, which they say will destroy vistas and cause health problems.

“I think this has all the makings for a disaster,” said resident Ilissa Meyer.

The electric company says it’s just trying to improve reliability.
