Woman’s body found in water in Upper Manhattan

The body of a 64-year-old woman was found in the water off Inwood in Upper Manhattan this morning, police said.

Police brought the body to shore near the boathouse for Columbia University’s crew team after a caller reported seeing it in the water, between the Henry Hudson Bridge and the Broadway Bridge, around 8:30 a.m., cops said.

The victim was fully clothed, and there were no obvious signs of trauma, according to police.

The body was pulled from the Spuyten Duyvil, which connects Hudson River to the Harlem River at the top of the island

The woman’s name was not immediately released. Investigators are waiting for the Medical Examiner’ Office to determine a cause of death.
