Fans having a blast on Super Bowl Boulevard

The Great White Way hasn’t seen this much NFL action since “Broadway Joe” Namath quarterbacked the Jets.

For four days leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII Sunday at MetLife Stadium, a 13-block stretch of the famed thoroughfare becomes “Super Bowl Boulevard,” a football-themed winter wonderland complete with a block-long toboggan run
, a field-goal-kicking station and the NFL’s top prize, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The action kicks off at noon Wednesday, running until 10 p.m. daily.

“I want to kick a field goal,” said Kip MacArthur, 29, who was covered from head to toe in Denver Broncos gear. “I feel like I’ll be down here every day.

Mary Klug, 70, who was visiting from Wisconsin with her husband, said the outdoor extravaganza was a nice surprise.

She said they can’t wait to see the Lombardi Trophy, which will be on display at West 44th Street.

“We’re from Wisconsin so we can’t miss that,” she said of the prize named for the legendary Green Bay Packers coach. “We grew up with him. We would have preferred if the Packers were in it, but we’ll be cheering for the Seahawks.”

Football fans can pose for photos with some of their favorite players at an autograph station on West 40th Street, or tweet pictures of the 20-foot-tall Roman numerals three blocks away at West 43rd.
But the highlight will be a 60-foot-tall, 180-foot-long, eight-lane toboggan run. Every other attraction is free, but the wintry slide will cost $5, which is being collected for charity.

“I’m afraid of heights so I’m not crazy about the slide,” said Nicole Davis, 24, a Boulevard volunteer.

“It doesn’t look bad, but when I’m up there and ready to go, I know I’ll be like, ‘Hmm, do I really want to do this?’ ”
