Police say a driver was killed in a head-on collision on Long Island after crossing over into oncoming traffic
Suffolk County police say the accident occurred at 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Holtsville.
They say Henry Villegas of Farmingville was driving north on North Ocean when he crossed over into the southbound lane and struck a Volkswagen.
The 56-year-old Villegas was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
The 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, Samantha Velez, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Both cars were impounded for an inspection.
