Spitzer spends Christmas at gal pal’s family home

A grinning Eliot Spitzer and his flack-turned-fling, Lis Smith, spent Christmas with her parents — a day after he and wife Silda announced their marriage was officially over.

The Love Gov and Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio’s top spokeswoman brought a bunch of holiday gifts to a cozy get-together at her childhood home in Westchester County.

Arriving in a black GMC Acadia SUV at around 10 a.m., Smith emerged in shiny black stilettos and a form-fitting, sleeveless black-and-tan mini dress more suitable for an 80-degree day than Wednesday’s nippy 24.

Spitzer, who resigned in 2008 amid a prostitution scandal, was bundled up in a black overcoat and multicolored scarf.

Smith, 31, clutched bags from Patagonia and Armani Exchange, while Spitzer, 54, carried an armful of presents and a bag of gourmet deli goodies from Zabar’s.

The former governor waved at a Post reporter but declined to comment on his liaison with the raven-haired power publicist, who worked on his failed comeback bid for city comptroller this year.

Sources have said Spitzer waged a charm offensive on Smith’s parents to convince them he had abandoned his hooker-loving habits and was worthy of dating their daughter.

The couple was joined at the stately, white-stucco Tudor home in tony Bronxville by more than a dozen guests who began arriving at 9:30 a.m.

They briefly came back out to load up the Arcadia with several bags of gifts.

At around 2 p.m., Spitzer — wearing a baseball cap from his alma mater, Princeton — rode off with another man in a black Mercedes-Benz SUV, then returned about three hours later.

Smith broke her silence about the union via Twitter on Tuesday.

After another user tweeted a Christmas wish that Smith’s private life would no longer be covered by the media, Smith zinged back, “At this point a pony might be more realistic.”

She also retweeted a message from rival flack Audrey Gelman, with whom she engaged in a Twitter war while Gelman repped Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer during the race for comptroller.

“The least feminist thing one can do is savage another woman based on their personal romantic choices. More civility and (peace) in #2014 pls,” Gelman wrote.

After Spitzer’s crushing loss to Stringer in the Democratic primary, Smith was hired by de Blasio to rep him during the general election and transition.

De Blasio has refused to say whether he will retain her services for his incoming administration since her affair with Spitzer came to light this week.

A source close to de Blasio’s team has said the mayor-elect was apparently blindsided when The Post published exclusive photos of Spitzer visiting Smith’s Soho apartment building last week.

The shots, which appeared in print on Monday, also spurred Spitzer and his emotionally battered wife, Silda, to release a joint statement late Tuesday saying, “We regret that our marital relationship has come to an end.”

Sources close to Spitzer and Smith said their relationship began to get serious in October when he first met her skeptical parents and later her siblings.

Spitzer then introduced his leggy former spokeswoman to his own close relatives. and the increasingly confident couple began openly socializing within their respective circles.

“They wanted to send a message that their relationship was completely aboveboard and nothing they wanted to be ashamed of,” one source said.

The pair bonded over intimate matters other than their common interest in politics and campaigns, sources said.

Both Smith’s and Spitzer’s fathers are afflicted with Parkinson’s disease.

One source said Spitzer “has served as a rock for her as her family has come to terms with the disease’s debilitating effects.”

As for Silda, she initially stood by her man during his 2008 hooker fiasco, but this year Spitzer packed his bags and moved out of their shared Fifth Avenue apartment.

In an abrupt statement released Tuesday, the Spitzers ended any speculation about their marriage.

“We regret that out marital relationship has come to an end and have agreed not to make any other statement on the subject,” they wrote.

No divorce paperwork has been officially filed.
