Woman sets fire to boyfriend’s apartment during fight

A woman set her boyfriend’s apartment on fire during a domestic dispute in The Bronx early Sunday, authorities said.

Clarissa Calderon, apparently sparked the blaze while she and her partner were fighting inside of the boyfriend’s Metcalf Avenue apartment in Soundview, cops said.

The 22-year-old woman told police that boyfriend Ishmel Morgan, 33, hit her several times in the head and back with a hammer, according to cops.

Morgan told police that Calderon bit him and tried to stab him with a knife before starting the blaze.

Neighbor Stanley Mitchell, 55, said Calderon moved in with her boyfriend a few months ago and that the cops have come by periodically since then.

“They were arguing all day off and on,” he said. “She started trashing everything. Sounded like she broke everything in the house.

This has happened before,” Mitchell added. “Not too long ago, she was taken out in handcuffs.”

Morgan was charged with assault and possession of a weapon, and Calderon was charged with arson, assault and possession of a weapon.
