Woman’s ashes stolen from daughter’s car

A Queens woman’s ashes were stolen out of her grieving daughter’s rental car in the Bronx, authorities said.

A memorial service was held for Eileen Dashiell, 59, on May 9th and following the service the crematorium delivered the woman’s remains to her daughter in a green tote bag.

Jeanne Shuff, 40, left the bag in the rented minivan she parked outside of her in-law’s house on Oak Terrace in Mott Haven.

The next morning the distraught daughter found the front passenger window shattered and her mother’s ashes missing.

The thief also made off with a DVD player and a computer, police said.
