Police say a Long Island man tried to swallow a plastic bag containing crack cocaine during his arrest.
Daquan Ravenell of Hempstead was charged with criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance.
Nassau County police say Ravenell began to flail his arms and punch and kick the arresting officers while attempting to swallow the bag on a Hempstead street Tuesday.
After he was subdued, police say the defendant spit the bag out. They say it contained 13 smaller bags of crack cocaine. Police say another five bags of the drug were found in his pant pockets.
Police did not know if he had a lawyer.
