Invisibility cloak is in sight

Harry Potter better patent his invisibility cloak — he soon may have some competition.

A team of British and German scientists has created its own “cloak,” made of special lenses that bend light. Both the “cloak” and an object they hid beneath it instantly “disappeared,” according to the journal Science.

“No matter what angle we looked at the object from, we saw nothing. The bump [created by the object] became invisible,” said researcher Nicholas Stenger.

The cloak and the object it hid were miniscule, but researchers are working to recreate the disappearances on a larger scale.
