Kids stuff

TODAY

SPILL-PROOF PARTY: San Francisco kid-rockers the Sippy Cups keep kids hopping with balloons, confetti and other tot-friendly trimmings, while keeping grown-ups happy with covers of hits by Pink Floyd, The Beatles and the Ramones. 11 a.m.; $27 for adults, $17 for kids. Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, at 95th Street; 212-864-5400.

WILD THINGS: Get up close and personal with some of nature’s most fearsome creatures at the American Museum of Natural History’s “Predators” demonstration in the Linder Theater. Wildlife expert Andrew Simmons will introduce kids to live animals including a golden eagle, python and a bear cub (OK, that one’s not so fearsome). 11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m.; $10 for adults, $8 for kids. Central Park at 79th Street; 212-769-5200.

TOMORROW

IN THE SWIM: Kids love under-the-sea characters like Nemo and the Little Mermaid. So take them to John Tartaglia’s musical “ImaginOcean,” which features fish in puppet form (and since Tartaglia is from “Avenue Q,” they’re cooler puppets than most). Noon (also Wednesdays at 11 a.m., and 2 and 7 p.m., and Saturdays at 11 a.m.); $39. New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St.; 212-239-6200.

STRING THEORY: It’s Pinchas and pizza at the 92nd Street Y, where world-famous violinist Pinchas Zukerman and his musician pals sit down with families to talk music and, yes, eat pizza. A full-length concert follows. 2 p.m.; $20. 1395 Lexington Ave., at 92nd Street; 212-415-5500.

NEXT WEEK

ANIMATION ALL-STARS: Good luck keeping your preschooler from rushing the stage when Nickelodeon presents “Storytime Live!” at Radio City Music Hall, starring live versions of Nick Jr. characters including Dora, the Wonder Pets, Kai-lan and the Backyardigans. Hosted by Moose and Zee — and if you don’t know who they are, this show probably isn’t for you. March 31 to April 4, days and times vary, $29 to $85. Sixth Avenue and 50th Street; 212-307-7171.
