Mideast neighbors keep wary eye

The uprising in Egypt is triggering calls for similar unrest elsewhere in the Middle East:

* In Jordan:

Muslim Brotherhood leader Hammam Saeed predicts that Arab governments aligned with the United States will topple.

“People have woken up and are ready to unseat the tyrant leaders who remained in power because of US backing,” he said.

* In Yemen:

President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s supporters broke up a march to the Egyptian Embassy by protestors chanting, “The people want the regime to fall!”

* In Iran:

Opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi compared the protests in Egypt to those in Iran after its contested elections of 2009.
