Hockey jersey

Ilya Kovalchuk recently signed a 15-year contract with the New Jersey Devils, which gives him plenty of time to build his Jersey dream home.

Kovalchuk, whose NHL contract is worth $100 million, has paid $4.5 million for 2 empty acres on Frick Drive in Alpine, NJ. Kovalchuk plans to build a 20,000-square-foot home. The land is one of eight lots that were part of the 63-acre Henry Clay Frick II estate — subdivided by developer Richard Kurtz. Listing broker Dennis McCormack of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s could not be reached for comment.

We hear . . .

That Rory Tahari has moved into a townhouse on a tree-lined Upper West Side street . . . That the recent auction for Rhinebeck’s Astor Courts, where Chelsea Clinton got married, was unsuccessful. The property is back on the market at $8.9 million.

Tri beckons Olsen twins

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are at it again. This time, their Manhattan apartment search has taken them to the Fairchild building at 55 Vestry St. in tony TriBeCa. That’s where our spies spotted each of the tiny twins traipsing around on separate visits.

The fashion-forward sisters were there to scope out a $9.995 million, six-bedroom, 6½-bathroom triplex penthouse. Reached by a key-locked elevator, the condo — a combination of two units — is 4,658 square feet inside, with an additional 3,500 square feet of private outdoor space.

Farber’s house call

We’re glad to hear that poker-playing Wall Street broker Dorone Ilan Farber still has some dough after Robin Katz, a sexy Chase bank financial adviser, allegedly duplicated his ATM card and withdrew more than $100,000 from his bank account last year. Farber just bought a $4.2 million co-op on East 71st Street. The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom unit had been on the market with a $4.4 million price tag. According to the listing, the apartment is a combination of two units and has a double living room and a formal dining room.

Brooklyn ‘Project’

Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill neighborhood could be getting more fashionable. Nicholas D’Aurizio, Nicolena handbag designer and “Project Runway” alum, recently checked out a one-bedroom, $2,575-per-month, 883-square-foot duplex with a private balcony at the new 75 Grand rental development.

It might be a bit off the beaten path, but it’s an up-and-coming area and developers hope reasonable prices will lure people in. The no-fee rental building, near the Pratt Institute campus, offers units with loft-style, 16-foot ceilings and mezzanines.

Day at the office

Celebrity dermatologist Doris Day, no relation to the actress, has bought a 1,500-square-foot, ground-floor office at the 10 E. 70th St. co-op building for $800,000, far less than its $975,000 asking price. The TV personality, radio talk-show host and author tells us her estimated move-in date is February.
