Olympians round out ‘Dancing’s’ all-star lineup

“Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday unveiled the newest cast that will be vying for the mirror ball trophy on the ABC reality show’s upcoming 18th season in an announcement on “Good Morning America.”

Olympic gold medalist ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White headline the lineup, which also includes former New York Ranger Sean Avery, “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure and “Real Housewives” star NeNe Leakes.

Rounding out the list is “The Wonder Years” alum Danica McKellar, “The Price Is Right” host Drew Carey, swimmer Diana Nyad, Australian pop singer Cody Simpson, “Big Time Rush” star James Maslow and actor Billy Dee Williams.

The show will have its first paralympian to compete, double-amputee snowboarder Amy Purdy. Pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovsky will also return after sitting out last season.

“Dancing With the Stars” is making a number of changes this season in a bid to bump up ratings, including replacing its longtime band and band leader and bringing in Erin Andrews to replace Brooke-Burke Charvet as co-host alongside Tom Bergeron.

The show also announced a format change, where viewers will be able to vote to switch celebrities and their pro partners mid-season.

The new season of “Dancing With the Stars” premieres March 17 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
