No bail in ‘1st slay of 2013’

A man who allegedly shot his girlfriend in the face and killed her mother had the dubious distinction of being officially charged with the city’s first murder of 2013 when he was ordered held without bail yesterday in Bronx criminal court.

Raymond Mayrant, 24, is accused of gunning down Elzina Brown, 59, in her Soundview apartment at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 3. Brown, a school-crossing guard, was on her lunch break.

Mayrant also allegedly wounded Brown’s daughter, Diamond Dunn, before fleeing to Warren, Ohio, where he was picked up by the Bronx Warrant Violent Felony Unit Squad.

He showed no visible emotion yesterday as defense attorney Solomon Schepps told the court that they were not entering a plea because Mayrant had yet to be indicted on any charge. They are to return to court Jan. 24.
